It's an exciting and scary period of life, both for the students and their parents!<br /><br />I believe that one of many strengths of Headwaters Academy is having caring, competent staff members (yes, Julie: this includes you!) who are always available to help the students through their emotional roller coaster. Kids this age are beginning (perhaps beyond "beginning") to assert their independence and like to think they can navigate life on their own. The reality: they need some space, but they also they need mentors to guide them through life's ever-increasing challenges. It's perfectly normal for them to not want to turn to their parents, because it is they from whom they most desire independence.<br /><br />My questions to any of you reading this: Do you agree or disagree?
